Introduction

1. Definition & Core Meaning
The Present Perfect Tense connects the past to the present. It describes an action that happened at an unspecified time before now, or an action that started in the past and continues to the present.

2. Use Cases - Why do we use it?
Life Experiences: Things you have done in your life (time doesn't matter). I have been to Paris.
Recent Complete Actions: An action that just finished, with an effect on the present. I have lost my keys (so I can't open the door).
Unfinished Actions: Actions that started in the past and are still true. I have lived here for 5 years.

3. When to Use It - Key Signals
Look for these keywords: already, yet, just, ever, never, recently, lately, since, for.
(Remember: If you say EXACTLY when it happened like 'yesterday', use Simple Past instead!)

4. How to Use It - Structural Formula
(+) Affirmative:
• I / You / We / They + have + Past Participle (V3) --> I have finished.
• He / She / It + has + Past Participle (V3) --> She has eaten.

(-) Negative:
• I / You / We / They + have not (haven't) + V3 --> They haven't seen it.
• He / She / It + has not (hasn't) + V3 --> He hasn't arrived yet.

(?) Question:
Have + I / You / We / They + V3? --> Have you ever flown?
Has + He / She / It + V3? --> Has she called?
