Connecting Past and Present
Present Perfect connects the past to the present. Use it for:
ā¢ Actions that happened at an unspecified time (I have visited Paris)
ā¢ Actions that started in the past and continue to now (I have lived here for 10 years)
ā¢ Actions with a present result (I have lost my keys - so I can't enter now)
ā¢ Experiences with "ever/never"
ā¢ Superlatives: Used with "the best/worst/first" (This is the best film I have ever seen)
ā¢ Frequency: To say how many times something has happened (This is the third time I've called you)
Key Words: for, since, just, already, yet, ever, never, recently.
