Present Perfect

Connecting Past and Present

Sections
Introduction

Present Perfect connects the past to the present. Use it for:
• Actions that happened at an unspecified time (I have visited Paris)
• Actions that started in the past and continue to now (I have lived here for 10 years)
• Actions with a present result (I have lost my keys - so I can't enter now)
• Experiences with "ever/never"
• Superlatives: Used with "the best/worst/first" (This is the best film I have ever seen)
• Frequency: To say how many times something has happened (This is the third time I've called you)

Key Words: for, since, just, already, yet, ever, never, recently.
